Hahahahahaha ME TOO!!!!!
Get some sideways looks from the old boys' trap club when they stop by and I'm downrange makin snowmen... But its TOO FUN NOT TO!!
I shoot year round and try to do it all, rain, wind, snow, hot or cold. My coldest day out was -30F. From 22-45/70 bp and ranges from 50-700 yards. Getting long in the tooth so the longer ranges are 4 wheeler and snowmobile depending on the yime of year.
I do some in the winter it all depends on the temp. Even -20 isn`t bad if it`s not windy, usually my range gets snowed in. Not so far this year finally got some snow yesterday. Well see if it stays. I`m only 30 yards from the house so warming up isn`t an issue. My snipler gets cold though.
Well he** lately in Sask. i`ve had to strap the dog to my butt to avoid getting blow away in the wind. Cold you can dress for, i hate wind oh ya freezing rain isn`t my friend either.
I shoot whenever I can get away from work. Longrange shooting at my own range takes a hit because its a pain to load up a sled to check targets. The local 200 yard range normally only has my tracks in the snow.
This was supposed to be the year my heated shooting and loading shack was finished, but that never happened. When its done I'll have 1/2 mile to shoot, right beside the reloading bench and heater. Throw in a barbeque and I might never leave. Shoot steel, and I won't have check targets either.
Our club made an small almost enclosed room around the woodstove. Been menaing to try it out when really cold like now.
I bought an ice fishing tent to set up and shoot from. Put portable bench in it. Bring a generator and heating device. For the un official range south of town.
Good to see lots of fellows aren't too soft. I had a great day out today. -20 plus wind. The wind was a little "Brisk" but we still had a great day. That 338 Edge is sure proving to be a great (fun) shooter.
I often shoot outside in the Saskatchewan cold.I bring my truck to warm up in if the snows not to deep.If the snow is deep I put on my snow shoes and snow pants so I can hike into the gravel pit and use the barrel of my rifle to warm my hands between shots.I know it's time to quit shooting when i can't feel my fingers anymore.
Our club has a heated room with sliders for windows down range to 100 yards so really you could go and shoot no matter how cold it is out side, scopes can get a little foggy some times. FS
