Who still makes a 338 Win Mag rifle these days?

Dear god I want a browning bar .....eh anyone got some pull with browning.... tell them to get off there arse and make them
Like what’s with those banana’s over there ...don’t make them anymore

It seems like they decided 300WM should be the top caliber for all of their recent models with the 338s being discontinued.

Just fur chits'n giggles........

Hopefully I haven't broken any rules.
If so, please delete this post.

Had that same model in that cartridge. Was a great hunting rifle. - dan

I’ve owned 4 of those tang safety Rugers in 338 at last count.
Great rifles and for whatever reason they seem to be easier on the shoulder than the 338 is in Remington or Winchester.
My only complaint is the Ruger front sight on the RS is a bear to remove if you want to go with a slick barrel.

Well the search continues, not really seeing much new inventory in 338 aside from the Tikka T3X (a little light) and the Benelli R1 (I'd prefer a BAR if I went the semi-auto route).

Since starting this thread it appears that Ruger has since put on hold production of all 338's (and 375s, 416s...) in their Hawkeye line.

The Winchester Alaskans seem to be out of stock across the country.

I really wish Sako didn't discontinue the 85 line, a Sako Kodiak is exactly what I'm looking for, hoping they release something comparable in the new Sako 90 product line.

The search continues.

Watch the EE, watch used inventory at gun stores in Northern and Central BC. Corlanes is a good start.

I owned and hunted a Tikka T3 lite 338 wm for a long time, don't let people on the internet determine your recoil tolerance for you...

A cheap Limbsaver on a Tikka goes a long way too.

Have you had a chance to shoulder a Benelli r1 ? With the comfortech stock it seems to soak up recoil better than the bar even though it's a lighter rifle. You can also adjust the stock with some shims and get optional butt pads and cheek rest pads. I haven't tried the wood stocked one.
