Who still moly coats?

I still do, I was wondering who has stopped, and who has started and who has continued. I do it for the even velocity.

I still moly coat. I have been doing it since the NECO kits hit the market years ago. The reason I do it is because I can go longer between cleanings.

I moly the bullets for my .243, but not any of the others. I use Miss Moly to treat the bore and got a pound of the stuff to treat my bullets. The process is pretty simple; I dump a box of bullets into a vitamin bottle with about an eight of a teaspoon of moly powder and let it rattle around in a vibratory tumbler for an hour or so. Dump the bullets onto a shop towel, wipe off the excess, and you’re done. No fuss, no muss.

That is how I do it also, I use spray moly from KBC tools for the bore, and treat the bullets as you do, I really like to see a ten fps deviation in a box of bullets

I prefer moly for this same reason - however, I have been experimenting with h-Boron Nitride lately to see if I get similar results (safety reasons). Initially, it looks like I need to do a light cleaning (Hoppes) each day in a major match with hBN, but not a full clean (Iosso). With moly, my cleaning interval was more based on how long the rifle would sit (600 rounds between full cleaning typically) and if it looked like 2 months, a full clean was in order. However ... with more competition experience, more regimentation comes into play - if I was doing light cleaning with moly, results may have improved. I may go back to moly if I don't see good results from hBN. FWIW.

This essentially what I do. I have a bottle of powdered moly that will prob last method lest of my life. I am a varminter so it helps to have to clean less.
