I'm looking at building my newest addition into a project gun - a 1911 in 9mm Norinco NP29.
There's no gun shops near me, but I travel to Toronto and area a fair bit.
Anybody recommend gun shops that stock a good selection of 1911 parts?
Thanks for any info,
Glen

I'm also looking for this. Most of what I've read is folks buy parts from Brownells. They ship to Canada.

I'd love to finds some parts locally though!

Most shops just have bits and pieces, because there are too many different makers to stock some from everyone. Look up Fusion firearms, they have everything 1911 and ship to Canada

You won't find a store that has a full comprehensive listing of every part you need in ontario.
Ellwood eps is pretty close to having it all, although you may have to pickup used parts from their gunsmith to make due.

The best bet is to order online from 2/3 stores.

Remeber brownells charges Duty after the fact, so don't order a 4$ pin just to pay 30$ more!

Thanks for the assist, folks. I can order online anytime and have done so a few times. Nothing beats looking at stuff on the rack and feeling it in your hands though!

I've ordered about 100x from Brownell's and not once did they charge me duty. Only had to pay Customs on 3 orders and that is from CBSA and has nothing to do with Brownell's. Don't post what you don't know.

The two USPS shipping options Brownells offers appear to be handled differently.

Via the non international USPS option a $40 trigger gauge cost me $35 shipping and no duty.
Via the international USPS option $40 worth of screws cost me $10 shipping and $13 duty.

Both were delivered in a box that was way oversized for what was in them.

I don't know which method to choose now.

Firearms Outlet Canada lists some parts (Ontario), Dlask Arms has more but in BC. Brownells seems to be the more comprehensive source but in US and there are restrictions on what you can order. The last time I ordered parts from them, there is a limit of $ 100 without requiring an export permit. BTW, not all parts you see from Brownells can be exported to Canada due to US government regulations.

And i ordered 3mag springs and a mag base plate just before Xmas and was forced to pay $15.
Keep your attitude locked in your closet. Clearly you had a bad Christmas.

My last order at Brownells was for a Ruger MK2 bolt retaining pin. Cost of pin was about $8 but with the shipping and exchange it cost me about $25
They could have put it in a regular sized envelope and mailed it for $2 but instead it came in a padded sleeve big enough for an old LP record.
Not complaining about their level of care of the product but the overkill was extremely expensive. And there no additional CBSA fees.
