Supply vs demand right. I don't imagine there's a whole lot of demand for 223 / 556 when the only thing that can shoot it with is bolt guns...

Anyone make single shots here in Canada?

You'll see it only be available in hunting rounds.. no reason to bring in crates of fmj.. so shooting costs will go.up due to expensive ammo..until then it will stay where it is.

If anything the price will go up. We're already getting it at close to US prices because our buyers buy bulk. Now they won't and won't get as good of a deal.

223 is one step or so up from 22 rimfire.
Sure don't see this round going down in $$ anytime soon.
Lots of bolt actions out there chambered in this.

Ammo prices always go up. I am looking long term and trying to decide if my next rifle is in 223 or 7.62x39.

x39 is cheaper for surplus but that will run out at some point(years). Steel case newly made stuff is basically the same price but 223 is more prominent. But I already have an SKS with lots of ammo

I know the only correct answer is buy both but I can't figured out which one first

The price will never go down. And availability is sure to be a problem. With the kind of crap these clowns in Ottawa are pulling it is a good time to be a reloader me thinks.

I agree with all that are saying UP, just catchin' any sale to cut costs. I'm beginning to increase my stock in ALL cals in case of qty limits. Even 'hunting' rounds. You can't go wrong expecting the worst from the turd and company. I may have to weigh it to keep under regs

talking to friends of mine across 5 US states.
They all report supply issues for ammo , magazines and other essentials at their local gun stores.
As fast as inventory arrives it flies off the shelves
Even reloading powders and primers are getting snapped up like they have never seen.
Americans are buying guns, ammo and essentials and that is going to affect supply and pricing very quickly if it hasn't already. That combined with our Trudeau induced economic disaster even without Wuhan Virus, is crashing our buying power with our feeble dollar.

So nope..... expect everything to start rising in cost dramatically in the coming months.
