who uses .22 conversion kits?

The only pet peave I have about the 1911 .22's is that the slide does not lock open after the last round.

This bugs me too. however it is good mental practice to know how many shots you have taken...

I have the Kimber 22 dedicated. I had it stripped for cleaning 2 days ago and the quality is awesome as well as the accuracy. There isn't much different between the conversion kit Kimber set up and a dedicated unit. I am a bit pissed that I scratched mine when trying to get the slide release back in when I first got it, that I can chalk up to being a 1911 noob

I am eventually going to change the sights, black on black isn't my thing. I am also going to do a twin in the silver matte when funds permit.

The Kimber is probably the nicest package when it come to a 1911 .22
