Who uses a loader for their AR mags?

I understand that it's very hard for some people to push in those last few rounds into a pistol mag when the spring is near fully compressed, but in a 5 round AR15 magazine it seems like a waste of time/money. Even with the 16-18 round .50 Beowulf mags, the spring hasn't got super tight by the last round.

I have a canadian forces speed-loader that I use with my .50 mags.

Also, greentips on stripper clips come with a speedloader adapter thats fun to use:

Pushing rounds into any AR magazine isn't hard at all...? Setting up the loader takes more time than pushing those five rounds in.

If I had Beowulf magazines I would definitely use the military's speed-loaders to get those initial ten rounds in and then just push in the rest. I don't have any Beowulf magazines.

Hmm, that Maglula bench loader looks like a handy little tool. If we had full capacity magazines that'd be useful to load up 3-4 mags and head off to the range, instead of the usual 10+ and some loose ammo. That said, it seems pointless to bother using an expensive tool like that with only 5 rounds. I suppose I might be convinced to get one for .50 Beowulf magazines, but at $430.00 it'd have to go on sale for like 90% off before I'd realistically consider getting one.

In Canada it's less about the difficult of loading the mag and more about convenience and speed. In a competition or when doing a course, less time spent charging mags is more time to relax and rest up between stages or drills.

I use the military style loader. Its easy to load the 10 round clips in the top, and "crunch" a couple of clips into a mag in a few seconds. Can fill a range bag with 20 round mags, in a few minutes. Works every time, rugged, and super fast! Also very cheap to buy, and clips are easy to get.

I bought a striplula 10 round magazine loader and it works awesome for my lar mags. it also allows you to use stripper clips which would make loading even faster, I just have no idea where to buy them. I mainly purchased it cause its easier to load with gloves on and also easier on bare fingers but its also very quick. you insert 10 rounds and can be from the side you dont have to slide them down from the top then theres a piece at the top that flips over and you just push down on it with 2 fingers and its done. the tail of it also unloads the mags so nicely.

and to those others. No I don't find it difficult to load I just find it a bit time consuming when I would rather be shooting. And yes, I use the LAR-15s. I wanted real life feedback to see if it actually was as time saving as the lulas for the 9mm.

Glad my M&P 9 came with a mag loader the last round is crazy hard to load. I have on for my Lars mags as well. I think it's worth because allows me to shoot more. I man enough to say I use it. :)

Same one I have and worth every penny. Not saying its hard to load by hand but can be more difficult with gloves. I have enough stripper clips to keep 500 rounds pre loaded and its the fastest thing Ive ever used. Re load the strippers when I get home and ready for the next day.

Ps. Place a EE ad for stripper clips thats how I aquired mine for a decent price
