Who uses the highest tensile strength steel of the barrel makers?

I’ll likely use the dovetailed wedge, I’m intrigued with the idea of silver soldering and nitriding but not going to commit to the thought as it’ll likely be more pain than I want to subject myself to. I’d like it really well regulated which will mean a lot of adjustments without some obscene luck.

I’ll probably try using some of the engineer’s alignment tools at work and calculate convergence angles, and see how close I can get it from the start. Will be a learning experience for sure.

Id love to build a double rifle but im at a loss for the talent and skills needed. Im planning on trying stock work this spring. Have a black walnut slab to butcher
I do love reading about builds though. Was really interested in the .720 12 bore double you gave up on.

That is actually a .470, just had a spare pair of 12 bore rifled barrels with it and second monoblock. Good news is she sold, so you’re off the hook. :d I lost interest in rounds below ~2400fps from experiences outfitting and couldn’t justify further efforts in slow heavy guns, they don’t fit in around here very well.
