Who will get the first Crow of 2009?

That's because they're a protected species around here

Nope:
All birds are protected except the following: Starlings, Crows, Pigeons, House (English) Sparrows, Magpies, Blackbirds, Common Grackles, Brown-headed Cowbirds, Ravens (hunted on private land by residents) and any other birds for which an open season has been declared by the regulations as indicated in this summary.

These locals are just smart enough to know their safe in the city.

There are three crows and one squirrel in this picture. Crow #1 was hassling my little squirrel buddy. Crow #1 was shown what would happen to his pals if this behaviour continued. Crow #2 noticed his buddy after the stearn lecture and hopped over and started to eat him. Crow #3 three was wise and stayed over on the right side of the stump and ate his seeds quietly.

Crows, ya can't trust em!

All i know is there seems to be a raven every 100 meters on the drive between P.A and La Ronge...and every time you stop to blast one they fly out of range....of a 12ga anyway. :D

Because they are protected the population is getting out of hand. I think they need some regulation.:sniper:;) :D

Got my deer hides and and bones in the shed from last November deer season. Drop that off in my favorite pasture right next to a big old oak, get back into a willow snag with my 222 Sako heavy barrel at sunrise and turn a few crows into pink steam. Man I love sniping crows!

I couldn't be left out on this so finished work early, drove out to the first cut block and wacked a couple crows. Silly buggers were trying to save their friends life from that nasty owl. Odd that such an intelligent bird can't tell plastic from real!!
Any excuse to take out my spanish beauty 12ga SxS.......

I jumped onto the hunting forum for the first time since grouse season closed. At the lawn bowling club across from my house there's a murder of about 25 crows and I was going to look up how to hunt them on crown land. I'm going to start praying for a firearms discharge bylaw in town in the mean time.
