I have the Mesa LEO stock adapter on an 870 MM w/ Enidine recoild reducing stock tube. I love the kit, with the exception of the collapsable stock.

The butt of the stock is a flat hard edged M4 adjustable stock. To make it more comfortable, I simply screwed on my old R3 recoil pad onto the stock. It now shoots like a dream but the additional 2" is annoying.

Can anyone provide recomendations for stocks that will fit an M4 style buffer tube, but have a rounded/comfy buttpad built into it.

All suggestions welcome.

If the Enidine recoil reducing system is doing its job, not sure why you'd need to add an R3 pad, but maybe a slip on rubber pad might do it for you.

Who sells good slip on pads? I'm in the GTA

The enidine system rocks, but the inside "sharp" edge of the M4 stock digs in and is uncomfortable. The R3 is not necessary, I just had one lying around. I was just hoiping for something shorter.

I may end up putting the mesa system on an 870 slug gun, and then put the hogue 12" stock on my MM but I'm still hoping to find a better buttpad solution. If only they had orunded the M4 butt pad. My shoulder is no square like that.

I have a Magpul ctr on my short 870. My only complaint with the Mesa is that I like the bead sight for the 12 1/2 barrel and can't use it. It works perfect on my shotgun with the ghost rings and the ctr is excellant.

I'm gonna avoid the slip-on comment and actually give you a suggestion.

Try the CBS 6 position stock from CAA

I have one on my AR and it's very comfortable. Got it from TSE.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Dogzilla and everyone else. I just ordered the Magpul CTR Milspec from Brownells. At 99.99 it should just make it under the state dept $100 limit. I hope. It is after all just a fricken piece of plastic.

I'm soooo looking forward to this as my bubba R3 pad on the stock Mesa provided was just too ugly, too long, and quite frankly way overkill for a buttpad with the enidine recoil unit. A nice thin buttpad on a compact stock will hopefully make me a happy camper.
