I went in and asked for RL22 & 25, the guy said nope none, then walked in the back and came back out saying they just received their first shipment in 5 months, this morning. I didn't ask what or how much but did bring home some 22 & 25.

And of

Too bad P&D has had Allient for the most part pretty much the whole time No Sale Sports has been out of it.
If No Sale cant get their purchasing act together they can continue to pound salt.

"Haven't had any since the Iraqi war started" was the line I got last time I was around there. They make it seem like they have to frickin' scrounge just to keep half of their inventory around.

Isn't it funny how the first thing to come out of their mouth is "no" ... before even checking. At least you guys have P&D.

Maybe they did have some but sold out a while back because of a better price?? P&D still had some cause people shop there last for powder $$$.

I usually check P&D first as well. It's on the way home from work (so is WSS, but I drive by P&D before I get to WSS). Plus, it's usually an 'in and out' thing at P&D, none of this 'take a number' bull####. I value my time enough that I can spend an extra couple bucks if it saves me waiting in line for a half hour

I Cant Wait, Until We get A "Cabelas" Or "Bass Pro" here locally!

((I Hope Wholesale Sports Gets Their Ass Kicked!!!))

They Have Been Monopolizing The Business For Years.
They Have A Terrible Return Policy
And They Do Not Stock Or Keep Items Stocked With The Products We Require.

In all, they do a terrible job as far far as any customer service related issues go. They have been the only game in town for many years. And as consequence have taken advantage of the consumer. They are going to get a rude awakening when some serious competition comes to town. I certainly wouldnt want stocks or shares in Wholesale when someone like Cabelas moves into town! They've left a bad taste in a lot of people mouths over the years!!

I honestly don't understand how WSS can be as horrible as they are at managing inventory and supply chain. You have *try* hard to suck that much. You've been in business for decades. You *know* that you're going to sell a lot of guns every fall. It's inevitable. Now you'd *think* that it wouldn't catch you by surprise EVERY SINGLE YEAR and run you out of inventory of everything shooting/hunting related, but, somehow, it does.

I suppose it could partially be explained by a stingy-ass management/ownership who doesn't want to tie up a lot of capital in inventory. But that's stupid way beyond stinginess. They could make much more money than they tie up in inventory. As they say, you have to spend money to make money. You won't make any sales if you don't have the items in stock.

If I have to go through the hassle of special ordering stuff, I have the Internet available to me, so why would I bother making special orders (which are't really 'special' - they're IN the damn catalog)

Ooooohhhh, that "take a number" bull#### is a real piss-off. I've gone in and waited in line just to get a box of ammo that I could see across the counter. But, no I had to stand in line while people were checking out rifles that they had no intention to buy and telling the salesman stories about their shooting or hunting abilities. After 1/2 hour wait, I kid you not, I hadn't moved up one single number and had 6 to go. I figured, I get old and crippled and be on life support before I got this ammo. So I walked out and bought it elsewhere. I just can't figure out why management doesn't separate these items from the gun counter, I guess they need to get a job at Wal-Mart to learn something about retailing. Thank God for Canadian Tire in Calgary.

I know exactly what Gitrdun is talking about. Had never been in the new store and knew nothing of the take a number stuff. I stood there for 10 min before I saw the ticket machine, the next number was 6 people after the person being served. To hell with this walked out, drove up the hill to Russells and got what I needed in less time than it would have for me to get to the front of the line at WSS. Nice store but....................

take ticket get in line

Do the P&D thing no BS, no lies, no tickets and the people do want to sell you things. Take a ticket thats classic, but useless sports probably is not going for the handloaders business more the uneducated and first time shooter, no amount of bling hanging off the walls will get me in there again

wss

Out here on the coast we deal with wss and russells and sir by mail order only.....a lot of us have stopped dealing with wss completely....russells are much better....

cause it might make sense to seperate things or split counter staff...That being said a lot of the time if I'm out I have no choice but try them as I typically can't get to P&D until the weekend due to my working hrs.

Why is it that they have 60 gallons of deer piss all year round and no ammo to shoot the animal with, oh I remember, better mark up on the deer piss and it last forever sitting on the shelf. I don't buy the "Iraq war efforts" are causing the so called shortage of 556, they never had any decent supply of 556 before the war. How hard is it to figure out that the high demand #### that people want are the items they should stock IE 9mm, 45acp, 223/556, 308. 40sw. ect

They are dumb asses

hrmm I didn't mean to start a 'slag wss' thread. I had read that RL 22 & 25 were a little hard to come by sometimes, guess not.

Oh, but I love slagging WSS at every opportunity. They're a perfect example of a chain whose ONLY virtue is being the only chain in the game. I sure hope Cabela's moves in and puts them out of business. Or, better yet, buys them out and 'cleans house' a bit.

Anyway, WRT the powders - all powders tend to have unreliable availability. Although dollars to donuts that WSS is out of them FAR more frequently than P&D.

Personally, I stick exclusively to Hodgdon's as there's essentially a never-ending supply of the stuff in this country due to the marvelous Higginson's outfit out east. Order it in bulk, and you won't have to resupply often. Order from Higginsons, and you won't have to worry about trying to find the stuff or weathering 6 month droughts when it does come time to resupply
