wholesale misinformation

I've had lots of good advice from them over the years on guns and shooting. Some employees know more than others, but that's normal because shooting is a complicated business- I have done it for years and there are lots of things I don't know still- one reason I like this forum- I don't try and impress peole and am not afraid to acknowledge that there are things I don't know- they have helped me lots over the years.
I don't work there.

It is obvious by many of your post that some of those so called clowns know much more than you do.

And please specify. Not a flame invite, but a genuine question. We cant all be as good as you, I understand. And I bow to your superior intelect. But to which post do you refer sir? My help me select a rifle? That would be an opinion poll. Others are allowed to have opinions too. I stated mine, you insulted me with personal attacks. If you like, after school we could settle this out by the monkey bars. I will be in Calgary for a few hours tommorow. Perhaps if I can make the time, I will check out the new store and go kick some tires and tick off a few people in the line up. Why? Because it is my right to look, if I so desire.

Covey, it's hasn't been as rampant as it once was but as of a couple of weeks ago there is a dude at Russells who was at CT macleod and formerly WS or ProLine (i can't remember as i avoid him at all costs after listening to him in the easter gun show line up drunk and full of crap)...
the other one that comes to mind is a former "manager" at TSE who had been at WS and Russells...

basically as long as Jim or Glen are behind the counter at Russells and the staff at TSE listen to JR I'm covered as far as service goes (not to mention HMNBN)....

I keep track of them all! The dude at Russells who was from CT is a wannbe gun smith who used to be at the old Gun Craft. ( I really liked that store before Russels took over ) You are right to avoid him. The former mgr of TSE is a story all by himself. Glen is my favorite! Jim is a gun snob! When I am around Jim I never talk about my good stuff, and turn him off when I mention my rustly old cooey, and my post 1964 push feed model 70.:D I buy where they have what I want and do not depend on the sales person to make or break my day. No problem with most of WS staff, but the store is too big to be anything more than a big box store. I miss the days of the small gun shops, but I feel that we are responsible. Our need for everything and everything at the absolute best price has eliminated the small and personal and created the big monster stores where prices might be right but service is rare.

I don't think what I do is piss and moan. I voice my pinion. I thought that was still my right in a free democracy, wasn't it? If you go into a gunshop, you expect to have someone help you who knows what their talking about, no? From what several people said on this thread, it would be perfectly acceptable for them to sell a newbie a 7mm Rem Mag, and a box of .280, because their both 7mm's. We shouldn't expect them to know anything. Come on now, this stuff is just plain dangerous, and if your going to work in this field, you should nknow what your talking about! And if anybody disagree's with that, then I can't wait to hear your ##### and moan stories down the road.:slap:

##### and moan all you want, but if you passed your Pal examination it is your responsibility to know the calibre label on your rifle and designation on your cartridge. That little pink card says that you are not only allowed to buy guns and ammo but you are responsible enough to do so. Grow up eh!

Well it certainly is your right to look. I am not sure why you would want to tick off a few people in the line up? I don't know why you would want to go into a very busy place of business, especially one that where obviously don't appreacaite the clowns and all:D but that is your right! Go for it! Grab a NUMBER! Wait your turn! But when one of those clowns calls your number, remember it is not the clowns job to engage you in a lengthy debate, select the perfect made in heaven gun match for you, teach or instruct you in the finer point of hand loading or or take you by the hand and tell you why your bird dog does not like you. Don't be surprised if the clown limits your stupidness to once and calls another number. Hey, I will be in Calgary tomorrow and will be at WS. Maybe, I will be able to witness your performance first hand?

I'm almost wishing for rain tomorrow so I can come & watch.

Nuthin to see gitrdun. While I was there none of the stupid clowns were put in their place by any glock experts, but there was an 870 expert doing a demo for a newbie friend on how to strip an Express. Stripping went O.K. :D but the expert had to be rescued by the clown to put it all back together:dancingbanana: I thought this might be the glock expert and was about to introduce myself when I realized that this expert was just trying to impress his friend and not put down the clown and the circus he preformed for so it could not be GLOCK MAN. Other than that, all I saw was a bunch of busy clerks trying their best to sevrve a very moderate bunch of well mannered customers. All and all, Wholesale Sports front end is very impressive. I will be back again.

You know it's funny. It seem's that your not happy unless the spotlight is shining on you. Fortunatly, I'm done talking to you. There's only so much holier than thou I can handle from someone who's got their nose so far up...

On second thought, I'll start over. Mr. Covey ridge, you have a very pleasant evening. You want the attention, so you can have it. If you feel better and superiour, than I am very happy for you. As I mentioned earlier, I was quite happy with my treatment today. But you do not seem happy with this. So, I have two words for you, and their not Merry Christmas.

Actually Pharaoh2, when it comes to gathering attention and wanting the spotlight, read your previous statement below:

About a year or two now, I wen't in there just to play. I proceeded to pi$$ the one clown off by making hm look as stupid as possible. From showing how to strip a Glock, to how a single trigger, double shotgun reset's itself. His superviser or manager said somthing along the lines of "You all should know this stuff" Their clowns who couldn't fight their arse with both hands and a map.

The End (!)

P & D enterprises sent me a rifle via mail order with a broken internal box magazine when I was out of province. When I called to see if I could send it back and get my money back/exchange they said "no you have to deal with the savage repair guys now".

Now thats what I call ####ty service!

The only decent gun shop I've ever dealt with are the guys from wholesale sports down here in the 'bridge.

The End (!)

Ok I'll bite, and I promsise I will stop on this one. I wen't into the store to play with some new toys. I asked the guy to show me some interesting stuff, and he did. The problem was the guy didn't know his arse from a hole in the ground, and on several various firearms, couldn't figure out how this or that worked. I.e, the release side switches in the Glock pistol. He knew to release them, but couldn't figure out the rest. He was the one trying to show off, grabbing for the "Coolest" stuff, and not what I asked him to show me either. And might I add, was very cocky in doing so. I put him in his place, plain and simple. And he got pi$$ed. If you must launch personal insults, fine. But don't assume you know the whole story by reading a blurb. This is the most I've explained my actions in a long time, and probably the last. I have my reasons for being pi$$ed at some of them, but I don't get into that. Just as a quick sidenote, I left that store that day with a hefty bill as well. This is Glockman, over and out!

Glockman, nobody asked for your "revised" version of the story. You see, people reacted to the "original" version. And you don't need to offer explanations either. The way I see it, and as YOU told it, you went into a store and picked on a kid who's simply trying to make an honest living, dressed him down in front of an audience, possibly causing him the loss of his job. Then you come on here and thump your chest looking for praise and glory. Some of us simply just didn't react the way YOU expected. For your sake, I hope that when you #### up in YOUR job, folks will extend you more consideration and understanding than you do to others. You seem like the kind of person who takes it out on the waitress when your food isn't done right.
