Wholesale Regina...what a joke.

I blame the hair color ;)

Oh now you've done it.

I was just at the Saskatoon location last week.
There are a few tards who work there, especially that older woman.

Dealt with a guy who I think is new there and he seemed to know his stuff.

Had to buy some .243 and .257 bullets and we had a nice discussion about which bullets worked well in the 250 Savage.

He's going to be my go to guy when I go in there.

WSS in Saskatoon has it's share of them too. I think it is a case of depends who serves you. I had one tall 40ish year old guy there tell me you don't have to mount your scope staight because everyone holds there gun different. And I delt with a younger fella and an older gent that were more than helpful. But you definitely can't go wrong dealing with Clay at Prophit River.

I concur! The service and the attitude at the Regina WSS are beyond horrible. I don't bother with them anymore. All they want is to be left alone, not bothered with all sorts of questions about their product and with selling it.

I guess people are making their wishes come true because I'm seeing less and less people there these days. I still go in for other stuff, the self serve kind, but I don't bother with the gun counter anymore. They never have anything special or decent prices anyways.

Actually their prices are beyond ridiculous. For example, a two round magazine tube extension for a Rem 870 is $57 at WSS...LOL

I can get it on line for $21...delivered.

Good luck to them if they don't change their attitude and their outlook!

Did you try going to another local shop? I've purchased some guns from TNT when I was out there and the buying was a positive experience.

Here it seems like WSS is friendlier than the new SIR but Macdonald's/JoBrook/TNT are better yet.

lol you said it.

Check out the wws on the south side of edmonton ? really good store and good staff.

however , Edmonton north side ...... pacifically the gun counter... what a bunch of lazy rude people who know noting about guns. esp this one young kid. what a retard.

Edmonton South is not bad, I did have one guy that I would not buy a Leupold Mark 4 scope off of because he was being retarded, so I went to P&D and ended up saving a hundred bux. Ahhh, good old P&D you rarely let me down...

So I went into the store when my wife went shopping at Old Navy and was thinking on picking up a Lever 45/70. Get to the counter and wait...and wait ...and wait then some red head goof ball finally shows his mug and asks "What you want". Wow can you any less personable and sound so stupid is beyond me?? I say I want to see a Marlin 1895 45/70 lever with the big loop. He tells me its in the back and just stands there... I wait a minute and say "Well can you go get it for me to see " he sighs and reluctantly goes to the back and comes out with the rifle. Before I touch it he needs to see my PAL which he inspects for about a min( Think he was checking to see if it expired but was a slow reader) then hands me the gun. I hold it and get a feel for it then he gets all jumpy cause I dont point the barrel directly ahead at the deer heads on wall. At that point I set the rifle down and walked out. I can't believe how retarded the policy and the workers are at this store. For anybody who wants to be treated like decent person and not a 2 year old I implore you to not step foot in this shop. I guess this is why I buy most my rifles from Prophet River.
Does anyone know this big red head clown behind the gun desk?? If so tell him he sucks at his job.

**rant over**

WSS can be disappointing at times, but mostly because they seem to be out of everything I'm looking for whenever i go there. The people at the Edmonton Commons store are really quite nice. The last time I was at the Calgary store I was treated ok, although the security guard parked at the front door made me shake my head. Overall - no complaints from me.

These people are working stiffs like the rest of us and i don't expect them to lick my boots or call me sir. Seems like a lot of the people who rant on here must have really shallow lives. If mediocre customer service makes you this upset, wtf are you gonna do when something bad actually happens? Jeesh.

You were already pissed that you had to wait and even more pissed you had to show your PAL, and you were probably displaying your attitude by that time. Maybe the clerk was having a bad day, or maybe you were. Btw, asking for the PAL is store policy, not bad customer service by the clerk.

Not sure whats up with Regina both shops have issues. If people like being treated like a 2 bit whore Wholesale Regina is your place.
Too bad Great Northern Rod and Reel didnt sell guns, they are top notch fellows. I bought a bow from them a few years back and couldnt believe the time they spent with me getting it set up.

Cheers!!

No Sale Sports /Calgary are the same manned by idiots who could care less about making a sale let alone helping anyone.............at least they are consistent province to province.................Harold

Nope, the guys behind the counter at WSS in the murder capital of Canada are great guys and Gal! No complaints from me on that. But, "in stock" now that's another story! It's all in Calgary, for some reason! And if you order, you can't get a date of arrival! You're told it could be 2 weeks, maybe 6 weeks, maybe more! All depends on when Calgary wants to ship it!

Same story in Kamloops. "Don't have it. Can't get it. Couldn't possibly care less. I know nothing about guns, but I needed the job." Parts? Surely you jest.

BTW, I worked in retail gun stores for 15 years and I figure the least I can do if I expect folks to lay down their hard earned is to treat them with courtesy, respect and prompt service. As long as people accept bad treatment we'll just keep getting more of it. But ultimately, it's just plain bad business. When I eventually went on to manage, I absolutely did not put up with crap service from my people and only hired those who knew their stuff. WW does not work from this playbook. Of course, if they only pay minimum wage, then they get the help they pay for.
