what should I do, I recently purchased a Browning Gold Stalker from Wholesale Sports, on their website it reads "Hi-Viz fibre optic sights • Standard vented • 3" model with magazine cut-off •"

well it doesnt have the fibre optics or the mag cut off,

I phoned them today and they said they will call me back tommorow,

these fetures where a big selling point for my purchase,

as a big mail order company what would they likley do for me?

I wouldn't go shooting the messenger just yet. It is very possible that WHS was sent the wrong shotgun. The error isn't necessarily on their part. Although it wouldn't be uncommon for them to make mistakes.

Take it back(if you have it) and I'm sure they will do their best to order the right one. Not much else you can do.

based on my retail management background..... they are obligated to give you the product you paid for "as advertised" or refund your purchase... or make it right if it was simply a mistake..... at no expense to you of course, well if it was my company anyways

I lucked out with Wholesale mis- tagging a couple Muzzleloaders. Managed to buy two $400.00 loaders for the price of 2 e-bolts ( $153.00 each) . Basically got one for free as my buddy and I were buying at same time. Only two they mis tagged ( actually looking further into it I see the manufacturer double tagged boxes ( serials all matched up).

I've often wondered why retail mistakes involving wrong products or over charging are considered an outrage, but mistakes that result in significant under charging is like winning the lottery.

Positive WHSS Service Experience

These kind folk once shipped me a Sako mag that didn't fit..... I was looking for a .300 WSM mag and they sent me one, but it was sized for a full length action with a factory spacer in the full length mag. The short action in my gun uses appropriately sized "short" mags. This was a design change that Sako introduced for the model 75 in .300 WSM.

I gave Wholesale a call, and they took my info, then quickly transferred me to a knowledgable person who got it straightened out..... They made it right without so much as blinking an eye.

About a year ago, I ordered 12 trigger locks keyed alike, from the mail order department, when I opened the box there were 5 different numbered keys. I phoned and asked for a refund, not a problem. Very positive experience on their return policy, now the counter service is something else!!

I was under the impression that the magazine cut off was not an option but was on all bowning gold guns. The Hi-viz fibre optic was only on some.

Print the info from WSS's webpage and note the item#(SKU), see if that corresponds with the little white sticky tag they put on the box and the SKU on your invoice as well as the browning part #. The people that do the shipping recieving just go by the SKU number and take for granted that this info is correct. Take this info to the store, ask to speak to Dwight who is the store owner and he should be able to sort it out for you assuming the shotgun is still unfired.

No point getting Dwight involved unless you bought your gold from his store. I thought that you got it through mail order? If you did, call 1-800-696-0253 and ask to speak to Giovani, who is the mail order supervisor. Have all your numbers ready and I am sure that they will take care of it.

I was under the impression that the magazine cut off was not an option but was on all bowning gold guns. The Hi-viz fibre optic was only on some.

My impressions were wrong. According to the 2007 Browning Catalog, the magazine cut off comes only on the 3 1/2 inch version of the Gold Stalker and there is no mention of Hviz sights. I do not have a 2008 catalog, but the Gold Stalker is not listed for 2008 at browning.com. It appears that the on line information is an error. Gio, the mail order supervisor is the best place to direct your compaint.

ya i got it from mail order, its unfired and uncleaned, they told me yesterday i was going to get a call from them today, well no call yet and they're hours are closed :(

Maybe mailorder which I am unaware, but we had impulsive buyers who bought & returned unfired firearms like every few weeks, so the Edmonton store for sure had a 20% restoking fee!

I should have said that in certain circumstances they make exceptions to the no return policy to allow the return of firearms.

I think the original poster has a legitmate complaint and I would be surprised if WSS did not allow for the return of the firearm and a full refund.
