I was just in there, and without question received my quarterly reminder of exactly why they're closing. My least favorite gun counter guy was there, as unhelpful as ever!! When I first got there I could here him explaining to some customers how "these are franchised stores, so it all depends how the owner chooses to run them....".
I figured since things are on sale I might as well see if there are any bits I could use - like some dies for my .500S&W..... there is an entire disorganized wall of dies, so I go ask someone who is not the individual I speak of above if he can look in the computer for stock. After some humming and hawing, d!ckhead Butts in and says "if it's not out there, we don't have it"....i say "I'm aware, but there are several 100's out there and is appreciate it if you'd use your computer to tell me if my search is hopeless or not". Eye roll from him, some muttering, and he's says "if it's not out there we don't have it", while he waves his hand toward the aisle. Meantime, the guy I originally asked finds them on the shelf right behind them.....wow.....good f-ing riddance.
Also, FYI, I was told by a staff person that the current discounts won't be dropping. I find that hard to believe, but thought I'd mention it incase it helps any of you plan.
As for the good employees who are now out of a job, you can thank the likes of the 60-ish gun counter guy, who's name rhymes with hill.
