Collections

Congratulations, looks like a good group of Enfield No4’s.

Wait until you branch out into Mausers, Trainers, Mosin-Nagants, Springfield’s, M1 rifles & Carbines, Sniders, Martini's, Black Powder Muzzleloaders, bayonets, & books.

I was told by an old collector years ago that, "Once you get into the hundreds then you down size. It takes just about as long to get rid of them as it did to find them, years". I won't ever have to worry about that.

I was into black rifles, & CA's, years ago had most of them, played with em and traded them off, when they were hot.
To me guns are not really addictive, they are interesting and finding something different can be as exciting as a big game hunt.

Addictive is: being impulsive, and paying through the nose.

Not being addictive is looking for the perfect elusive model and sooner or later it will show up. That is if you have the patience and are willing to wait for a few years. It took me about 20+ years to find a Minty 1896 Long Lee with a tiger stripe stock, and an absolutely new second pattern 1888 bayonet and scabbard.

You should have good sources of reference material and study it to know what to look for when that gem appears. When you find it, you will just know.
Remember you won’t find it if you don’t know where to look, and don’t ask around.
Sometimes that gem is right under your nose.

first photo second from the right.
it is a LB i bought as a bubba for parts. it had 1 " of bbl cut and it was destin to be a parts gun. however the bore was almost new, allmatching, and i couldnt part it. so, i cut it down. turned the bbl to fit the front site post, cut down a new beach set off wood. turned out very well, and it is one of my faves. i carry it in the truck/ tractor all the time. i took my 7 foot black with it a few years ago, at about 20 paces.

third one from the right is a nice mint all matching LB and sorry, not for sale

i have collected anything and everything in the past, and i still have lots of diff stuff, but LE has allways been my fave. i have been well over the 200+ mark a few times, then sell off, then buy again.
