Who's going to Simpsons on the 19th?

Big crowd;many with deep pockets; hard to believe we're in tough economic time. Some folks picked up a few rare collectable Enfields. Lot 513 1933 Trials $6000 ; Lot 514 1924 Trails $1600 very rough IMO ; Lot 515 1930 Trails converted to No1MKVI $13000 and lastly Lot 516 P13 very nice condition...nicest I've seen...$12500. Add 10% plus 13% HST. Always a market for quality Enfields.

Just a few I was interested in...came home empty handed.

It's only money.....heck I get money all the time, and if I need more I can work more. But those rifles only come along once in a blue moon. Congrats to the buyers.

I don't know who paid $6,000 Cdn + 10% Buyer's Fee and 13% HST Taxes (if applicable) for Lot 513 - LEE-ENFIELD RSAF(E) - No4 Mk1 1933 Trials Mdl, 10-sht, 640mm bbl, SCARCE mdl, blued finish w/v lt edge wear, full wood stock w/grooved upper hand guard, hollowed bolt knob, matching # bolt, exc+ bore, EXC+ ...

... but, it was refinished and had other oddities about it that were bothersome ...

True. I think I only paid $375 for an unmolested (although converted to T) example decade or so ago. The buyer may have to wait a few years to recover his investment on the $6,000 one.

I saw an extremely pristine Ross Mk IIIB (British contract) in the pics for that auction. Does anyone know what it went for?

I've never seen one of those in that kind of condition...sigh.

From what I remember, the front sight was buggered. Looked like it was replaced/messed with, and it was significantly tilted to one side. Other than that, it was very nice.
