Who's idea was it? IPSC Ontario Match Results

I guess the BOD assumes our members can read.

Of course..........they are READING their renewal letters which indicate what the user name and password is for 2012. Just as they did for 2011, and 2010....etc.

If you look at the IPSC Ontario forums you will surely agree that participation has been spotty at best. Thus only a few actually have log ins for that system.

Perhaps a compromise should have been entered in which the published username and password were operational for the first few months as a bridge for those who are not members of that forum.

Well it also indicates you should contact IPSC Ontario if you have any problems...so...all in all...pretty straight forward

#####ing and moaning about it on GunNutz serves no purpose (other than posturing)

well I have alwasys subscribed to the concept of getting information anywhere at any time.

Hence replying to EESA questions here at CGN, via the EESA pre email, Facebook, my work email, Home phone, club phone, you name it.

Meanwhile..........It looks like I am headed off for some foot surgery in an hour (there was a cancelation) hopefully I will be around to carry on this conversation after!!!!

If not........its been a blast!!

(I know I know the mortality rate for foot surgery is very low..............but hey!)

Once again, IPSC seems to be doing everything ass-backwards! I still haven't figured out how to access Brantfords Hangover match. If something ain't broken don't fix it!!
Why not just forget all these stupid passwords and "keep it simple stupid." (KISS)
Why do some keep insisting that they do it they way they do to keep others from knowing we have guns. This is bull####!

Come on guys,
I like new site for results and matches.
It still needs some tweaking, like better visual distinguishing between training and matches, however overall I give thumb up.
Since I am a member of Ontario IPSC, have never seen so many changes in such a short period of time. Kudos to the board and Euxx/Simar.

Its not really a reading issue. The letter that went out said this is the login and password used to access the site, but they don't work.

Also, the results webpage login says you CAN use your forum login, not that you have to, although that is an apparent requirement.

Really, it wouldn't of been hard in the letter to say, members are required to join the forum before getting match results.

This isn't a huge deal to me...I joined the forum, and got my results. If it was done so to streamline IT resources and requirements, I'm fine with that.

wy not list results by IPSC member # instead of posting names at all...

rejoice!!!

I survived the surgery!!

Now I must admit I now under the influence of T3s and Rye.............so I doubt I should be posting anything this evening.

Take care all.......

ummm...isn't it extremely dangerous to drink and take T3s?

You might of survived the surgery, but the impending liver failure is another issue. :(

I am guessing... (repeat, only a guess)... that the form letter that went out for renewals with the password information, went out prior to knowing how close our web guys were to a launch. Our web guys are making quick progressive changes that are coming on-line quicker then I thought possible.

Keep in mind that the changes that are being made to our web site are changes that the membership has expressed an interest in seeing... (like match directors being able to post their own results to our website without having to wait for a web guy to do it for them).

Fair enough...I do like the new look and feel of it. It's a definitely a job well done.

Hahaha, I offered that capability on my (match scheduling) website years ago, and IPSC Ont started to scream how they needed to vet the results before them being posted, lol!

I guess they don't care anymore :)

Actually we do, I'm not sure we are going to let match directors post their own results until we can be sure that non members are not slipping through.

The best way to ensure that is an updated Winmss Members database that can be downloaded.

I know Euxx has one posted but it (thought no fault of his) does not appear to be updated regularly.

Then MDs could get the latest membership data prior to the match. If there is a shooter who is not on the database it would prompt some quick investigation of the situation and or payment of dues.

Thanks for reminding me. I will fix it this week.
Though there is a better and easier way now. With built-in match sign up system, yoy can import match with signed competitors straight to Winmss with their Ontario classes. Then you only need to enter stages and then you can put scores right away.

Playing with it now...........

It might have helped if I had READ the instructions you sent me. I am using the T3s as an excuse........either that or Quigley is right and EESAers cannot read! LOL>
