Who's ready for moose?

No moose hunting for me this year:( as i just moved to BC from NFLD!! but the parents were out last weekend back home and seen a few moose but never bothered to take one because it was just to warm so we will see what this weekend brings!!

My buddies and I will be hunting near Manitouwadge at the end of November through the second week of December. We prefer to track and dog them in the snow when the fair weather hunters are out of the bush and the cows are settled in calf.

I bought a replacement Sako .338 Win Mag from one of the excellent CGN's on here. A few mods later and we're ready for Bullwinkle.

Good luck and safe hunting to all!

We are heading to Pakashkan Lodge, north of Upsala in WMU 15A in mid October. One guy backed out so just the two of us. Can anyone recommend a butcher or freezing service in Upsala or Thunder Bay? If we could get the animal (hopefully) processed in TB we would not have to tow a trailer. Thanks for any advice.

Theres a truck stop/liquerstore/restaurant/grocerie store called Gary's(Esso) 10min South of where your going on hwy 17 He has a couple walk in freezer's, if it gets too warm to hang your moose he will let you store it in one of these, he didn't charge us and it saved our moose a couple years ago. This is the first in 16yrs I haven't gone up that way, Oh well it will be my first thanks giving Dinner with the wife and Kids. lol!

God, I'm going ot miss Moosin this year.

Congrats Looch nice bull makes me tingle in funny places:redface:

Nov 1 Grande Praire AB I have a cow tag and my son a bull as well as he has a cow elk tag and I'll pick up a bull elk just in case.Torn between using my .54 Renegade with handcast balls or my 9.3x62 FN mauser..............two years back there was a 90% die off with 9 feet of accumulated snowfall and the woodticks finished off the survivors in the spring deer as well.Didn't affect the elk....................Harold
