Considering Hodgdon hasn't made Clays for 2 years and it's not looking like they will for a bit, I am thinking of moving over to CFE Pistol as it seems to be more available to me than Clays. Anyone else using it right now? I figure I have until about Labour Day before I run out of Clays. If you are using it, have you used it for 45acp as well?

200 gr LRNFP in 45 ACP...215 pf.
It may be clean at max loads, but it's not particularly at reasonable ones.
And the name still confuses me. Copper fouling in pistols?
But there is far worse out there and they seem to actually be shipping it.

They are making Clays again. I don't know if any has made it to Canada.

I'm using it in both 9mm and 45 ACP. 5.0 grains under a 124 grain plated, 9mm bullet and 4.6 grains under a 230 grain plated 45 ACP. This is the most reasonably priced pistol powder that I have found recently so I've shot a fair amount.

The downside is that it is a relatively slow powder, so minor PF loads (in 9mm) don't burn as cleanly as hotter loads and my CZ tends to shoot a little high.
