Alright I'm new to the shotguns and am looking to put a red dot or similar optic on it. Needs to be strong enough for slugs and I was thinking EoTech..
My plan for the new year is trying some 3 gun
Any suggestions? What are you running and are you happy with it?

I have a Vortex SPARC on my 887. Used once, but it was a full day of tac shooting...probably about 150 birdshot, and 25-30 each of buck and slugs. Held zero all day. Loved it compared to shooting the same course with a bead a few months before.

I also have a Burris FastFire to try, but haven't mounted it yet.

Truth be told, I used to use red dot types of optics, but have moved back to irons on my "tactical" shotguns.
I found that target acquisition was "clumsy" when runnin' and gunnin' compared to plain jane irons.

Just my 2 cents.

Although I will say my favourite optic was a Bushnell model with a red or green inverted "T" for the reticle. Still have that one.

Aimpoint Micro's and I have also started using the Trijicon RMR's, also have a Aimpoint M2 that I utilize, tried the Eotech but it just sat way to high for my liking.

Aimpoint T1 in Larue low mount on my benelli m4. All others i use irons. To be honest, having an optic on a non-slug only shotgun is a little silly, but it's just so damn COOL on the m4. ;)

On my bush shotguns, it's ghost rings only.

I must admit I do feel a bit lazy going to the SPARC without putting more effort into learning to use the bead reasonably well....but slugs are expensive, and a hit is way more fun than a miss!
