You'd be better off going for a short and fat 6.5mm bench rest cartridge at that point... better internal ballistics.

Thanks guys and keep the thoughts coming. I'm still trying to figure out if it's mostly a cultural thing or if it actually has better ballistics compared to similar cartridges. The 'don't question, just do' comments lead me to believe it's not based on as much fact as one would like to believe.
