Why all the hate on 9mm

no hate on 9mm. i love my xdm and modded it like crazy. i do, however, love my kimber
1911s better. just the feel of them and their weight in my hand; feels great. sure they
make 1911 models in 9mm... but i am just generally used to that gun being in 45.

Simple as that.

English please

In IPSC there's minor and majour power factor. your regular 9mm load will only meet minor. (their calculation is more heavily effected by bullet weight than velocity fps x bullet weight; ie 1000fps x 180gr =180 PF). 9mm can meet majour PF but will have to be over the max PSI specs that wont work in your average stock 9mm pistol.

Target shooting with 9 mm is fun and cost effective. It is an inexpensive way to enjoy shooting the SIGS, H&K's, and Kimbers in my collection. I am shooting paper targets so knock down power is not required.

I own handguns in many calibers, 9mm, 40sw,357 sig, 38sp, 44mag ... 45 colt 410 shotgun 454casull ....

I like my nines the best, accurate, reasonable recoil so I can shoot it all day. For example 20 rds of 454 and I'm done for the day.. I've shot 500 rds of 9mm without feeling like I have been trampled

Yup it happened. Yes it did. It sure did. Did it? Did it? IT DID!!!! The 9vs45 thread
cannot die. Not the end of the world though, although it has had more authors than anything
ever written(Maybe). Perhaps a stake in the heart, garlic, or an exorcist........

Nonsense.

Explain why that is nonsence please! 55 grain fmj will penetrate and pass through 22 inch of ballistic gel + a 4 liter water jug filled with water and penetrate a second 4 liter water jug filled with water at 50 yards with 60% of bullet weight remaining on the bullet, that means it did not fragment as much a you would like. Home defence are what 15 yards max? Tnoutdoors9 made a video on that, look it up. My chest is 9 inch deep, so where does the bullet go? Do you intend on being in a self defence situation at 200 yards? Hard to prove self defence at 200 yards.

The way I see it. 9 is best for our purposes in Canada, better than .22 or throwing a rock at paper lol.

It is the smallest of the more "serious" calibres and by that I mean it actually feels like your shooting a real gun and not a toy like a .22. Nothing against 22, but it doesn't put a smile on my face, more of a training tool. With a 9 you get to practice controlling somewhat substantial recoil. It does adequate damage and not to mention it's much cheaper than 40 or 45. You really get to have it all, what's not to like?

I sure wouldnt want to be shot with a 22... Its really not a toy man! 40 grain cci still penetrates 7 inches, thats a serious problem if shot near the heart, throat or head.
