Why all the hate with 6.5 Creedmoor

The 6.5 was designed to feed reliably in an AR10 length magazine with reasonably heavy bullets. This is something that no previous 6.5 cartridge was as good at.

At a risk of someone going crazy...that bus is leaving the station right away. It ain't fair and ain't right...but unless PP ousts JT... yo'll be down a point I figure.

I think it fitting in an AI mag is the real advantage for PRS shooters and the like.

Does anyone make a 160 grain RN creedmoor load? Oldschool meets new school :dancingbanana:

Not that I'm aware of, but VV shows load data for 156gr Norma Vulkan and Lapua Mega soft points. That would probably be my choice in dense terrain outside of the boring old 140gr Partition.

EDIT - WAIT, Lapua does have a factory loading with their chunky monkey bullet: https://www.lapua.com/product/6-5-creedmoor-mega-hunting-cartridge-soft-point-101g-156gr-4316064/

Sako also has a 156gr SP, doesn’t look quite as round though.

All things considered and putting sentiment aside, I think the 6.5CM is as good as any deer cartridge out there and better than a most.
