why am I making them crooked???

It does feel good after all the BS. Should have done this from the start. I will feel a lot better when RCBS sends me a good one and a good set of dies. I had a really hard time believing that it was both the dies and press making the problem but finally had to acknowledge it. I was really hoping it was my error so that i didn't have to send the press back.

This situation is impossible. According to experts here, this could ONLY occur using Lee Precision dies and presses. ONLY Lee has such low standards of quality. Such high-end equipment as RCBS could not turn out anything like what you describe.
Only goes to prove that Lee-bashing is unfounded and quality issues can occur anywhere, even in the beloved RCBS, never-let-you-down, produces-perfect-ammo-everytime equipment.

Any and all manufacturers can have defective products, I highly doubt anyone anywhere would argue otherwise, it's the frequency that matters, and how they deal with it. RCBS has one of the best customer service and product support/guarantee of any manufacturer, anywhere, of anything. They are still not my first choice for most reloading equipment, but definitely are my fall back.

Your statement about Lee and RCBS is ridiculous.

It was supposed to be ridiculous.

Just an update......
I contacted Prophet River where I got the press. They said just ship it back and they will send me a new one no problems. So I did just that and am waiting for the new press and the new Redding dies. Looking forward to giving an update when it comes back and I try out the new equip. I don't think I will be dealing with RCBS anytime soon. Although I must admit, when I called RCBS they would have shipped a new one too, just figured I would do it through Clay because I wanted to get a bunch of other stuff from him as well.

THANK YOU PROPHET RIVER.

Seriously guys, Clay is awesome to deal with and he gets two thumbs up from me!!!!!!

One thing that has not been mentioned is that the rifle these cases were fired in could be the culprit. For example 303BR from Lee Enfield rifles frequently have brass stretch on one side causing the issue you describe. It is also not unknown for factory chambers to be cut a tad off center.

I suggest you get some factory brass, or brass fired in another rifle, and see how that sits in your press.

Even though you have found the issue, it might be interesting to know.

No thats not it but i definitely looked after you mentioned - thats a good idea.

Got the press back yesterday. Re-lubed all my crooked cases, ran them through the new redding FL die and new press. Took about 5 to 10 strokes per case to straighten them out and get rid of the neck run out. Will have to fire them all and start over to get best results. oh ya, new Winchester brass sucks too. Don't know what to tell newbies on here other than spend the money on the good stuff when it comes to reloading.

Anyway, Prophet River rocks and and I can finally start working up loads for my guns!
