Why are Swedish M96/M38 rifles more accurate than G98/K98s in the same condition?

I've had plenty of both M96 and M/K98 rifles and both can be plenty accurate although chances are the the Swede will outperform the 98 in terms of accuracy. The argument that calibers are not inherently more accurate does not hold water for me. The evidence suggests that the 6.5 IS inherently more accurate than the 8mm. As far as the actual rifles, there isn't much comparison in terms of fit, finish, and overall quality. The Swede takes it by a good measure.

Not sure what the point of this conversation is but is getting gawd-awful long winded. I'm gonna stick with my statement that the vast majority of milsurp Swedish rifles we see do not show rough handling and abuse common in large numbers of German wartime M98 mausers, and that a rifle in better condition would naturally make a difference in accuracy. Speaking of combat, you are a quite the combatant yourself lately. Maybe time to take a deep breath.

Corona virus...ack!
It's a fact most folks are a touch edgy these days. Note; telling someone they need to 'take a deep breath' NEVER works.
Jesus wept; the other day I was arguing about jokes about Hearing Damage... it was then that I 'pulled in my horns', apologised and decided no-one likes a sourpuss.
Says it all these days IMO.

I check myself with this meme now and again, LOL

I bought my swede back in 1985 from the long gone SIR ( how I miss that store, and the long gone Farmer's Supply) for less then a $70 dollars. The same day I picked up a brand new polish Moisin-Nagant carbine for I believe around $100. It was still packed in the gun grease it was stored in when it was manufactured in 1955. I am kicking myself now for letting that one go, Getting back to the swede I still marvel at the accuracy of it whether using 100 grain Sierra hollow points, 129 grain hornady spire point or 160 grain round nose that I picked up mail order from Valcartier Montreal back in the early ninety's. And yes it is a pleasure to shoot. The only thing I altered on it was having the bolt bent, drilled and tapped so a scope could be mounted.

If I understand correctly, you're calling me an arsehole...?

LOL, joking with you bud. BH and I have disagreed regularly and worse than this and still able to carry on as normal after the dust settles. There was a time that adults were expected to be able to do that. Anyway, there's nobody here with the horsepower to get me too worked up. But gawd knows some people are on edge. Posting on CGN lately is like walking in a mine field.

I enjoy the both of your posts... And most assuredly that was not directed towards you. I've boughten bullets from you before and I probably will need to again... Don't want to PO you too badly. I was more laughing at my expense... Just trying to soothe things over.

I thought both of your posts were funny

Everybody missed the obvious truth here. Maybe Swedes are just naturally better gun builders than Germans.

Funny thing about that is I've never seen any difference in the quality of the original M94s and M96 rifles built by the Germans for the Swedes. They both shoot just as well to boot.
