I'm aghast that anyone would have the balls to list a 1970's 94 in .32WS for $1600 (unfired or not) Probably the worst 94s ever made.

Must be some kind of CGN record asking price for that era of W94. Plus the harder to find calibre.
There have been some nice 32s. Usually much much older and a 26 inch barrel. For anything outside 30-30 I put forth a 25-35 long rifle would be more attractive.
My 2 bits.
So I haven’t been following prices on these and not really a lever collector. I have a Henry Steel in 357 that I shoot a lot but what’s something like this selling for these days?

I bought it to shoot it but haven’t yet. How much could I loose if I blasted away a box of ammo with it?
It appears unfired.
I presume you mean.... harder to find calibre ammunition. It's true .32WS ammo is absent from dealers' shelves across the country. The odd box is may be found on EE or elsewhere at about double retail.

I picked up a nice Mountie musket a few yrs back in unfired condition, but without box & paperwork for $750. I then fitted a Lyman 66a peep sight on 'er and use
the bugger mostly as a fun plinker at the range using handloads with hardcast boolits. Gets folks attention at the firing line, is a giggle to shoot & she shoots well.
Collector types would say not to mess with the one you show, but they be after potential profit. Not me though. If ye wish to try some factory ammo from yours,
have at 'er, but don't use the loading gate & magazine to avoid marking the metal finish. Just use the rifle as a single shot and give a few minutes between shots to
get a read on accuracy potential. Clean the bore & lube the action after & ye will still have a decent seller for down the road if need be.

Thanks for the reply and the sweet pic!!! I’m of the mind that if I shoot it, it’ll it’ll likely get shot a bunch with my home cast bullets and hand loads on a steel gong. What are they selling for these days? I bought it for $750 and imagine if I shot it, would still be able to get that back. It’s a nice gun after all collectible or not. I bought it with the intent of just shooting it but want to know how much value I’d loose if it was visibly shot.
cause people are stupid, the asking prices are outrageous & certainly not worth it, few are selling...the new ruger/marlin will soon take the wind out of the sails of these prices. Why buy a poorly built $2,000 marlin or old 94 when you can get a state of the art lever with a full warranty for $1,400.
Just like Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan did for milsurps.....
So Longmire & Yellowstone have done for the '94.

NAA.
And the reason for Remington 700’s or marlins or the Barrett’s that are insanely overpriced? The way the market is going I think with Covid and supply.
It's not just firearms or related products. New and used vehicles is another venue in the insanely over-price gouging front. Look at lumber prices last summer. Most of us could barely afford sawdust let alone regular lumber. Cedar and PT was a whole 'nother fiasco of price increases..
