Why Aren't The 35's More Popular?

MAH................Model 7 (older one like this) has a much slimmer barrel that the 600s and Kevlar is less than 1/3 the weight of wood, especially like the old 600s with the long square forends.

I could knock some more weight off it by changing rings and mount and doing an alum bolt shroud and speed lock kit, but can't be bothered I love it just the way it is...........

Thanks for the info c-fbmi. So is this rifle down in the 4 pound + range (without scope) ?

I have a couple 600 Mohawks in light weight HS Precision stocks and aluminum shrouds but the barrel looks a bit thicker than this Seven. When was this KS version new to market ?
Again, have always liked the Seven's, will have to look into this.

Sounds like your 7KS could be in the Kimber Adirondack/Mountain Ascent weight class.

4-5 pound sounds like it would really thump in .350 Rem.

I am worried about him..... Posting pics of OD green pistol gripped plastic rifles..... Not even pump action to boot..... Talking of getting older.... Next thing you know he will be hunting with a flack vest on.... Paul, are you ok?..... Lol
That wasn't my rifle but one that was posted here yrs ago. Poor lad thought it was a great rig. I don't think it ended well for him after that pic went up. :)

I have recently dabbled in .358 Win action with not one but two Savage 99's. One is minty collector, the other a working rifle. Incredibly accurate, hits hard and staring to work loads after getting all the components.

Whelen B I absolutely love your website www.35cal.com. It was actually your website that really got me intrigued with the 35's.
Glad you found it useful.

"This rifle weighs quite a bit less than the old 600" ?? Really ?

I see conflicting weights for both the 600 and M7 KS. Looks like they would be in similar weight class but I've never handled a 7KS

Douglas is right. Typically a 350RM Remington M7 Custom KS weighs 5 3/4 lbs (with sights) and a M600 weighs 6 1/2 lbs - more here - http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/501295-quot-5-3-4-lbs-of-bolt-action-fury-quot

I just sold my Maggie M600/350RM to BC a few weeks back. Loved it but was time to send it on down the road.
