Why Beretta M9s and 92s Work But Military Ones Don't - A US Army Armorer's Perspectiv

I recall reading on this site that the biggest problem with the CF Inglis Browings was worn out magazines. Surprising to me that cleaning/lubrication/maintenance was not emphasized in U.S. military, but maybe people were mentally absent on that seminar.

The browning mags that I had in A-stan were total garbage and the cause of most of the problems with the pistol. The follower would get jammed up by small amounts of dirt and cause endless stoppages, you had to download the mags every night and disassemble them for cleaning (and stretch the springs out). This was partially because of the springs were worn out and never replaced as well as the finishing on the mags.
