Why can't we do this in Canada?

'Cause there's noone willing to build it.

Where does it say in any range "guidline" book that you "can't" shoot from a zip line..?

It would take forever to set the stage back up between shooters. Other squads would be backed up waiting to shoot the stage.

There is a knack to keeping a match flowing and on time... 'Been to events with 200+ shooters and 10 stages and they're usually on time. Spread out over a couple of days, but still... I don't know how things don't get bung'd up:D

Need to find a ski slope with a lift that runs in the summer. Ride up engaging targets along the way. Would be a ##### to patch them all as someone would have to do some serious legwork unless you used plates that would self reset butthat's big $$$.

no problem building a stage like that except that your back stop has to be higher then the start position and since you would probably see over the side berms you couldn't have any other range active while someone was on the tower with a loaded firearm. just common sense safety. i believe that the stage shown was a side match at the Ironman competition a few years back. if i remember correctly they even had long guns for use off of the tower (machine pistol design but i can't remember what.)

That's our "square range" mentality...
There are ranges in the US where there's really is no traditional backstop/berm arrangement as were used to.

Some places just use the natural landscape while others rely on miles of vacant desert.

I believe that's a regular stage at the Ironman. you can do it from the ground but you take a penalty if you do. you'll also notice the mag in the hand, you can't load until you cross the rope.
