I've been using shooting rests to hold my rifles while cleaning, scope mounting, etc. and over the years had a few close calls with them slipping off the rests. Saw this at SAIL for $45 and thought it might be a pile of crap but hey, I'll return it if it sucks.
It's definitely a cheap pile of plastic, but it actually works great for cleaning, scope mounting, disassembly, etc. Holds the gun solid, sits solid on the bench, and holds all your jags, drivers, cleaning rods, etc.
I know I could build something better out of wood, but the time/effort/cost would be much more then $45 lol

There is nothing handier than a good full length vise.
I bought a Decker vise over 20 years ago and use it almost daily, don't know if that brand is still made but they are simple and very durable.

I use a Tipton bench vise at home and a Tipton portable range vise at the range... keeps accidents from happening... makes managing guns easier when cleaning or working on them.

For some reason not all the pics are working. It allows you to mount both rifles, and handguns, and rotates.

Lyman lists it at $118.98 US on their website.

This is on my to do list for the range....I'll make it smaller though, 8-10 gun capacity as that is the most I'd be bringing. Looks simple enough.
