Why do all of the tactical shotguns seem to be getting bought up lately?

They’re going fast because nobody wants to be seen with a 28” barrel and a mossy oak or real tree camo stock when the boogaloo starts to happen lol.

Believe it or not, the theory behind that camo stuff is that the other side won't see you with it.

I’m sure it’s appropriate in the duck blind or while sitting still calling turkeys, but it’s passé af when the alphabet boi’s are dropping a no knock warrant on your ass lol. Only flat black or fde will cut it. :)

I bought one because I figure if I have to use it I'm probably going to lose it. I'd rather lose 250$ than 1000+.

Shameless plug: There is a very nice Brixia/Valtro PM-5 mag-fed pump-gun with the unobtanium top-folding Buttstock for sale on the EE: SOLD!!

CanAm is still showing stock on some short barreled Grizzlies

Don’t buy the new 12.5” grizzly, they messed with the tried and true and screwed it up. They set back the barrel ring and built them off the shorter mag tube receivers they use for the 8.5” version. So you can’t swap a reg 870 barrel onto the new 12.5” guns and the tube holds less than 4 shells, buy a 14” one as it’s the same receiver as the old versions.

Mossberg 500 and 590 are pretty well gone as soon as they come in to stores. Even if you have a 500 Field model with a long barrel you can buy a 14" barrel kit or an 18.5" barrel pretty easily.

12G Shells are hard to come by as well. You don't need 00, #2, #3 and #4 will still work in the SHTF situation.

I have a 3 shotguns (Uzkon AS46 mag fed pump, Tac Ord Versamax and a Benelli M4) and there will always be an M4 in my safe - they're awesome.

Oh man a M4 would be awesome! That tac ord Versamax would be no slouch either! If I get nothing else, my 870 will be going to Tactical ordnance for some upgrades!

What, no Beretta 1301 tactical love. That's a Shame, missing out on a beast.

Thank you. I’m thinking of buying and would have bought the 12.5 without this advice

No worries, grab a 14” if you can as it’s the same receiver/mag tube as the old ones. The great thing about the earlier 12.5” guns was you got a standard receiver and mag tube that you could usually swap other 870 barrels onto cheaply, why change something that was such a hit?

I've heard that the 1301 is a great shotgun, would be very proud to own that one as well, was debating the 590a1 to go easier on the bank account, or a 870 police but they seem harder to find. But definitely a 1301 would be sweet!

Wifey has a Canuck walnut 4+1 and I've got a mossberg 590a1 magpul 20". Oh boy is that thing ever not fun to go around corners with. Definitely not a bump in the night shotgun. Both acquired pre-panic of course but lots of friends have been hitting me up to find out the skinny on local stock. Safe to say, pretty naked shelves these days, even in Edmonton.

The 1301 is a fantastic platform but I went pump for our two range toys for the amount we get out. It's just a good time.
