Why do so few scopes have a 50mm objective?

I have scopes with 40, 44 and 50mm objectives on various hunting rifles and to me its all about the application. I have found that for most shooting the 40 and 44mm objectives are fine enough. But when I'm sitting, waiting to make that long range shot at dawn or dusk, thats when I appreciate the 50mm glass.

That said I think the quality of the glass and coatings go a long way to level the playing field.

I've found that less expensive 3-9x50's are pretty comparable to more expensive 3-9x40's at dusk and dawn. It is kind of hard to go from using 50's back to 40's, I find.

Honestly I fully say better the best.... But is a 50 really needed on a 3x9?

I got a 3x9x40 bushnell and I can't think of a time I've ever used it past 400y. Don't beleave I was annoyed by anything.
