Why does everyone give the axis a hard time?

I had an Edge, what the Axis was originally called, in 22-250. Out of the box with the package scope and factory Winchester ammo that rifle under 1 inch at 100 yards. While the stock quality was flimsy, I really liked the design and fit. It was very comfortable to shoulder and shoot. For a budget line rifle it performed very well, I would take another one over any remington any day.

Any Remington, you say?

WOW! f:P:

If you have been around for a few decades, the Model 10/110 was a "budget" rifle constructed the cheapest way possible when it was introduced.
People crap on Remington for using a 2 piece bolt, the Savage is about a 12 piece bolt lol.
Now the Axis is a "budget" rifle in an already "budget" rifle company.
When I see an Axis, Hi-Point automatically comes to mind....

Now if you had said a Remington 770, I think we would agree.

I have a remigton hate, but every 700 walks circles around an axis.

A few dodge haters around too I see.....My truck is like a good hotdog wrapped in a crappy bun. Cummins baby.

I have three, .308, 22-250 and 25-06...... love them, the are accurate, reliable, light and the biggest? AFFORABLE. My Axis' will kill a dear just as dead as any 1k and up rifle but won't look as good doing it. Thinking of adding a fourth in 7mm-08 Rem.

I own a left handed axis in 7mm-08 and i really enjoy it. I like the look of it and it feels fine when i shoulder it. I have no issue with the trigger because i know how to make it go bang exactly when i want to. The only issue i had with it was having to try out 3 of my scopes to find one with a narrow enough bell to have the bolt clear the scope when chambering a round.

It is also plenty accurate for the distances i have to shoot at deer in my hunting grounds. Happy with my purchase and to each their own really lol

Curious as to why everyone gives the savage axis a hard time? I have one in .308 and for being a 400$ rifle I love the little thing. It is cheap feeling in the hands with that cheap plastic stock but performance wise it shoots better then most other more expensive rifles out of the box. After a few little diy jobs on them they can be a great little rifle.

That is what counts the most. Loving & using the bugger to get the job done. Tuning up options are out there for fans of this system.

Missed again ........ It's not about the brand. :)

Any remington.. every one I have owned and used has been an unreliable malfunctioning piece of ####.
That's rough luck man. I have a safe full of 700s and others with dozens before that with nary a problem.

cuz they is crappola...

You are so pathetic, I had one in 22-250 and never missed any grounghogs even at 400 yds with the factory scope. You are just jealous that they shoot metter than your favorite gun for a fraction of the price haahha!!

Why do some guys like Ford or Chevy, they just do, If it is made by man some will be good more will be junk, and that goes for everything.

Regarding the OP. I was really, really close to buying an Axis a little while ago, but to change the things I didn't like about it (stock and trigger) I was at the price of a "more respected" gun. Didn't really see the value in it for myself. Some people may be perfectly happy to shoot it as is, but that doesn't apply to a lot of people.
