Why does Under Armour use neon trim colours on expensive camo?

Hello everyone,

I'm new to hunting and I've heard that you may as well get the best stuff up front because it may last decades.

So that's got me looking at the Under Armour scent control stuff, but I don't understand why it has bright neon trim:

I remember from my hunting class that deer may not see orange, which was the trim colour on the last couple years, but still, what about other types of hunting when I won't be wearing a ton of orange?

It's not just about deer, though, I'll also be hunting geese, coyotes, etc.

Can someone please tell me what the science behind this neon yellow/green is?

I'd hate to spend a ton of money for new camo that's ruined by neon stripes.

I don't understand it either. IMHO, it's more of a fashion "trim".

It's diffucult to buy just one type of camo for all hunting. For waterfowl you want rainproof fabric, and a tough shell to deal with cattails, thorny bushes, burs, mud/dirt etc which doesn't always mean quiet. For big game you want quiet, which doesn't always mean rainproof. Dress in layers so you can change with the weather. It seems to me that it's not necessarily dressing for the cold, it's dressing to be comfortable.

Also IMHO don't waste your money on "scent control" stuff. Keep your hunting clothes stored in it's own bag/plastic storage bin and washed without scented laundry soap and no fabric softner. You can throw in some cedar boughs or pine woodchips or similar if you like. Always be mindful of which way the wind is blowing(both literally and figuratively;) ).......so basically I guess I would say, forget about Under Armour unless it's for an insulating layer and look for something else.

Then save your money and don't buy it. You can also save money by refusing to buy into the hoax of scent control.

Just buy good quality outerwear, period. No need for camo, scent control or any other gimmicky BS. Just buy good quality stuff that holds up to abuse, is waterproof, breathable, warm and not bulky.

Just like a flashy glittery fishing lure, it's made to attract the fisherman/hunter.
I agree that you should not bother with the marketing and ads that tell you you need this or that.
My dad, uncles and their friends killed more deer than most of us will ever see in our lives wearing army surplus pants, red plaid and an orange vest. Or, if there was lots of snow a particular year, white disposable painter's overalls.

This, I believe, it the reason. It's all marketing, nothing more. Not only can you wear it for concealment, but also pop by your favourite club and party in style.

Because like everything else Under Armour sells, the point of their camo clothing is to be seen wearing it. "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT MY STUFF!"
