because if I wanted a long barreled pistol I would buy a rifle/carbine?

hahaha, lets take this pistol and make it better with an 18" barrel, buttstock, improved sights, cocking handle, and a few rails.

I also find rifles with 7" barrels ridiculous.

Basically, lots of people want a Glock carbine.

Some people end up buying kits to make a Glock into a carbine, but it is restricted in Canada, and a SBR in the U.S., so most don't want to deal with the legal restrictions.

We usually end up buying some other pistol caliber carbine, that is less reliable and easy to maintain than a Glock.

But deep down we want a Glock carbine.

AFAIK, if it's built around a handgun frame it's still a handgun even with a stock and long barrel.
