Hey guys,

I want to buy a CZ P-07 some day and it looks like the suppressor ready models are the easiest to find. They look cool, but i started wondering why even bother with that in Canada? What good is a threaded pistol? Why not just buy a longer barrel version like the G19s? And how is shooting with those high sights? Better? Worse? i have no idea.

So why would you get a suppressor ready version of a pistol?

I had a Lone Wolf custom 9mm with a threaded barrel. ( Think Glock Race Gun ) It came with a compensator.
So If you like the look of them, or believe they will help you. It's an option.
Some of those threaded barrels might just help get those pistols into Kanadastan so you can buy them. Prohibited to Restricted barrel length.

There are a few pistols out there that only come in two versions:
- the "normal" version with no barrel sticking out of the slide, a barrel length less than allowed in Canada, and thus prohibited from import;
- the "threaded" version with a thread sticking out of the slide, a barrel just long enough to be allowed in Canada, and thus actually available.

Otherwise, unless you are into compensators and other devices they are for looks.

It's so crazy. My threaded barrel glock with suppressor height sights actually shoots holes in paper just like the ones in the US that don't have them, but because mine does I can own it in canada.

Unless you find a version with a barrel manufactured to the exact length required (which will still likely stick out a bit) a threaded barrel is the only way to get a long enough barrel to own in this country.

Well i guess that makes sense. I guess one could always by shorter sights if they don't like the tall too.

Can you buy compensators/muzzle brakes for pistols in Canada?

Who's the best distributor to order from if you wanted to order a particular model or barrel type from CZ?

You could- the slides just leave the factory with taller sights on it in anticipation of people using the threaded barrels for a supressor. I have a glock 19 with a threaded barrel and swapped to trijicon hdxr sights.

You can buy them, but I’m not sure who in Canada makes them

I have ordered compensators direct from the US.

They are fugly but they will put a prohibited pistol over the legal length to be classed as restricted, that's the only reason I can see to have one, other than when the Conservatives get back in power and give us suppressors.
