Why have Garands gone up so much in price? Remember when you could find them in the EE for decent prices between $500-$800? I’m seeing mismatched ones for $1800-2500 ... WTF? Is demand for one gone up that much? I sold one of mine long ago sadly & have another I should consider selling. Hahaha. Lets see some Garands. Cheers,

They used to be cheaper but then a certain CGN member started selling beautiful premium ones for close to 2K.
Then, everyone else jumped on the price bandwagon.

That's how it looked to me anyway.

Yep, crazy prices. Still sitting on some, albeit most are in pieces.

BTW, WTF are you doing in Alberta? A good guy that I use to hunt with just moved into your old neighborhood with his wife. He's a teacher and his wife is a nurse. Are you there for the foreseeable future?

The allure of the “ping” is very satisfying.

Have a nice Danish rifle with a VAR barrel and an M1D out of Norway that keep me happy.

Well........it would be a hell of a weekend for 2400$ if we're talking about bookers and blow!

I spent 1200 Euros in 2 day in Germany after leaving Kuwait. All I had to show for it was a crazy hangover and a real ####ty tattoo on my arm. What a great bunch of friends I have.... lol...

I dont remember any of it so did it really happen ?

They don't exactly make them any longer. Everything is getting more expensive. These are surplus firearms (which means price will continue to climb).

Plus its a semi-auto rifle that can have 8 rounds legally, without any pistol mag shenanigans :)

and that pling is worth at least 1000$

heck if there was an easy way to move the gas system closer to the receiver without fking the historical thing it up, it would be worth even more

It's a simple thing really..... the internet driven demand has inflated the price...... look at all the beat up full wood enfields listed for 650 and up..... most are more than that and are of little true collector value. Same with the last 5 or 6 years of the M1 Garand. I managed to avoid the garand addiction but wish I had bought a pile of them 20 years ago LOL My enfield addiction is bad enough, my no 4 T sniper was recently appraised at 8000 :) ..... I paid 1200.00

OneBarFly I took a year off work to be closer to family down here & also my gf is from here. Closer to my dad as he’s got some heart issues. Send me a pm with your buddies name as I’m headed home end of this month for 2 weeks to fish & hunt.

As for Garands being ridiculously priced I shake my head as I’d love to get a couple more but not at these fraaacken prices.

There are still plenty of deals around, you just have to be fast on the draw. Prices had been slowly but steadily climbing for many years, then when the influx of stripped receivers hit the shelves, parts prices skyrocketed, and rife values jumped up as well due to many seeing the value of their home built rifles from the value of the parts. I do not view this as incorrect.

Supply and demand as per always. You can't have a rifle that has been out of production for over half a century that is in high demand in a country outside of it's common manufacture or military usage at SKS prices forever.

This is why mine came from Fulton Armoury, I wasnt buying some hacks homemade project for a bunch of crappy parts.
