Why have M1 Garands gone up?

How lucky we’re you simonyzer for those prices. I want several more but I paid $500-600 for the 2 I got back in the day ... sold 1 but should’ve kept it. Sigh ... darn guns. Hahaha

I have 2 and it is funny even at the range with everyone with hearing protection stops and looks down the line to see where the ping is coming from.

i still say when the zombie apocalypse comes you want a garand over a black gun, and when the stock breaks the first time to wack a zombie you wish you had nine pounds of wood and a steel butt plate. lol

My Fudd cousin believes the Garand to be a $400 gun at best.
I told him to buy any he can find at that price, and I'll buy it off him for $800.
Still waiting...

Strangely enough, only a day after I posted above, my cousin just texted to inform me that Garands can often be found at pawn shops and garage sales for around $450.

So naturally, I reminded him that my offer of $800 for a decent, complete M-1 still stands.
If he can buy for $450, and sell to me for $800, EASY MONEY!

Hmm, this sounds like a "it happened to someone I knew once 10 years ago" and now it's an all the time kind of thing

I grabbed a 6 digit SA with a 44 dated barrel off the EE for 1200 recently. Always had this on my must have list and even though I was tight for money I jumped on it since its the cheapest Ive seen in a while. Great condition too!

I think that's it.

I very seldom see ANY firearms at garage sales, let alone Garands at 75% discount.

The 30-06 Garand doesn't interest me at all. A .308 Garand kinda interests me. But a Garand thats chambered in Nato 5.56 would give me a woody at the mere sight of it. Sadly the Mini 14 does squat for me.

I'm trying to wrap my head around this...

So an 11 pound, 43.5" full size rifle chambered in 5.56

OR

A miniature scaled down version, which would be sort of a Ruger Mini-14, except it uses pingers, not magazines.
