Hey CGN

We are back! I know, I am as excited as you!

My name is Matt, for those of you who have come into the shop I am the big cuddle bearded guy with tattoos. For those who I haven't had the pleasure of meeting in person this is me

I started my journey in the gun business after working a sh!t, soul sucking job in my early 20s that completely ruined my outlook on what a job/ career should be. After that experience I swore I wouldn't have a career I would love showing up to every day. Thus the adventure began.

I started at Wanstalls in 2013 (after working for a few other firearm companies) as a 20 something social media guy. Since then I have filled many rolls at the shop like brass sorter, lead taste tester and scope polisher. Now I am a partner and I run the day to day while my 2 partners Craig and Marco enjoy being old. I have been a member on CGN since 2009 and I am first and foremost a gun nut. I still to this day find myself buying things I have always thought I needed in the EE and am always looking for that elusive gun I wanted when I was 18 but was to broke to afford (there was a lot).

So what does this mean for the members here? You get a direct line to the pulse of the business lol. But seriously you are dealing with the guy making the calls day to day.

We are a small crew of guys and the folks working here have all been here long term. They have seen the best and worst of the shop, the community and the politics. We do our absolute best to make folks happy, we are however human and we do mess up from time to time. We will always do our best to make things right withing reason.

So all that being said lets get this show on the road.

I remember listening on the Silvercore podcast that you weren't going to renew your CGN Business membership and noticed when that happened. What prompted the return?

Personally, Wanstalls had such a long history on the forums good and bad with the previous people running things that it was hard to get out from under that. It was easy for me to think CGN had just gotten away from us.

After some reflecting I think with a fresh start and putting the work in we can make a solid run at this.

Its always easy to immediately deflect issues as someone one/thing that is externals fault but sometimes you need a bit of time away from a situation to reflect and figure out what you (as a company) can do better and take some responsibility.
 
your website has pinky-ish color tone which I found is not pleasant to my eyes. It might be just me, but when I see pink I think of .... (sorry I cannot say that word otherwise I would be labelled as ###-phobia).
I seriously suggest you change the pink magnate kind of color tone to cooler and neutral color tone like grey
 
Hey Matt I had a similar journey as you. Had a rough time in my 20s, switched industries, and now loving what I do.

If you ever decide to have some product photos taken I am always available. Gives me an excuse to drive into your neck of the woods.
