First I thought of getting an SKS but decided on a CZ-858 instead.

But all this continuous talk on here about SKS's and what a good gun they are for the money I decided to buy one anyway. After all who could go wrong getting a select grade from Tradex for $195.00?

So the gun arrives and I'm really impressed with the 1953 Tula I received in near perfect condition.

Then you guys start talking this nonsense about the supply drying up and I panic. :p

So I order another select grade from Tradex. This time a Tula 1955/56 no date in near perfect condition arrives.

It's all your fault. Shame on you! ;)

Now you just need a 49, 50, 51, 52, 54, D series, K series, chinese military and copies of each year in laminate stocks...

Nothing wrong with having a collection of red stuff!!

I followed a very similar path! :)

Nice, definitely need a mosin to round off the collection.

These red rifles are definitely ahead of their time. They look way cooler than the western rifles of that era and still look better than the plastic new stuff. I was going to tapco my SKS but now I bought a vz 58 now I can keep SKS original.

You're grouping "Chinese Military" into one gun, what about Sino-Soviet, late Factory 26, factory 416, factory326 (wood stocks and 'jungle' stocks) - and then there's Yugo 59/66 and 59, and Polish SKS's then there's Albanian, Viet Namese and even North Korean. A long way to go.

I purchased the Chinese SKS from Weimajack... the stock popped right out at me,and I had to get it... the Wood on the CZ is from an outfit in the States known as Ironwooddesigns.

Haha this thread just made me purchase one as well! This month alone it's been two m44's a svt-40 and now a second sks!! My family just exploded in size over the past few weeks.
