Was on a service call out in Toefield today, and decided to go into Alberta Field and Stream.
Shortly after I walked in the door, I saw this little sweetie...
So, i asked to see her.
Looked her over, found the wood to be in great shape, the bore bright, and the serial numbers MATCHED!!!! The only flaw was the mag was a Savage... But that can be fixed...
So I looked at the price tag...
$275.
So I said that I'd call later this afternoon and give them a deposit on my cc after checking fundage.
So I left the store, and once back in the truck I called my good buddy M39A2 (Scott). He and Kevin from Dycor were together, and after learning that the wood was good, the bore was bright, and that the numbers matced. he told me to get my butt back there and put a deposit on it.
So as i turned the truck around, my co-worker offered to put the rifle on his cc, and i when I sold it, we could split the profit.
I thanked him for his kind offer, but told him that many years ago, my grandfather taught me a very important lesson. Guns are made to be bought, not to be sold. He said not to worry about it, and to go get the gun before it was gone.
So i turned around and bought it!
The info on the receiver is as follows:
No5 MK1 ROF(F)
9/45 R8682
What can you folks tell me about this pretty girl??
All the guys at the store said is that it was built in 9/45, and was brought in to be sold by an old feller who was moving into an old folks home.
