Got my best 5 round group ever today. First time trying Win 555 bulk pack, the gun loved it and so did I.
might not be much to all you sharpshooters, but this is uncommonly good for me.

I'm loving my 22/45 Mark III Target as well. Even more so now that I installed the bushing to eliminate the mag trigger safety. Liking the look of the Hunter model with the fluted barrel too.

Please post a 25 yd grouping. I am very interested in this pistol as a next purchase.

This picture shows my first attempts at 50 meters: I did it the second time just to see if the first was a fluke. I'm sure with practice I could tighten up the group. Go ahead and buy the gun- they're very accurate at distance, and the trigger is usually quite good right out of the box. Don't overlook the Mark 1's either- they show up in the EE from time to time and are worth the money, even though the Mk.1 does not stay open on an empty mag, and some dislike the heel magazine release.

I found this to be a good training feature when I first started with handguns. Get someone else to load your mags with a random number of shots, so you don't know when you're out. It's a great way to observe what's actually going on with your trigger pull. We scoff at the idea of a flinch with .22, but if its there, it'll show, and you can do something about it.

oh, and the heel release should not be a deterrent for these great guns. It's easy when you get the hang of it.

I agree, neither of those things are problems for me. I'm only shooting targets, so I don't need quick mag changes or anything. I love the gun- it is without doubt the most accurate pistol I own.

let me get this straight. some of you guys shoot pistols at 50 meters?? with no optics and not on a rest? holy ####e....

Try it- you might be surprised. The first time I shot pistol was at 50m, so I didn't know any better- I just figured that was the normal distance. 2 hands, take your time, give yourself an 8" black target face that you can clearly see at that distance and try a 6 o'clock hold.
Anyway, I'm not nearly as good with my Shadow at that distance- the best I've managed so far was getting only 16 out of a box of 50 on paper, 10 of those in the black. Other days, it's almost depressing, so switching back to the Ruger restores my faith in myself.

hmmm, ok, I'll give it a go!

I can do well from 25m, so maybe :) tho at 50m I can't see any marks on the target, just the shape of it and maybe the rings depending on the lighting.

the nra 50 yard slow fire target separates the men from the boys

also with the right ammo the mark I and II will hold better than x-ring out to 50 yards.

try CCI std vel if you can find it

have fun

i've seen guys take these guns into the mid 90s range on the slow fire target

best single part i put in mine was a volquatson sear kit - sweeeet trigger with no other mods.

I used to shoot at the annual Schutzenfest at the Vancouver Swiss Club, and I've seen those kinds of scores, too. Humbling, really...

I keep the front sight in focus, and all I see is a fuzzy black ball sitting on top of it. :D
