Why I love Prophet River

Prophet river is my go to when my lab needs "dangerous" things from the states. I believe the last couple were a long heavy 220 Swift barrel and a long heavy 300 rum barrel from an ex marine in Texas named Bill Wiseman. Name suites him.

I had a bad experience with Clay, manager of Prophet River. I bought a Ruger Predator (target style) in perfect condition and paid near new price. I got quite ill and did not try the gun for a while. I took it to the range and I got misfires from light primer strikes. I sent it to Gravely-Ruger warranty rep Canada and they refused to replace the striker spring under warranty. I paid for the repair. I took it to the range again and couldn't hit paper at 25 yds. it was shooting 90 moa low. The gun had a bent barrel and it looked like it came from the factory that way as there wasn't a mark on the barrel. The gun was on consignment from the seller. Ruger waranty rep in Canada - Gravely refused to replace the barrel. Prophet River refused to take responsibility and refused to forfeit their $200 commission on the sale as a good gesture. So now I have a $1400 piece of junk, plus about 22 dollars in repairs and another $200 in shipping costs. So- my opinion of Profit River isnt the best. Buyer beware.
of course, you left out the fact you bought the consignment rifle four years before you contacted us that there was an issue. :(

I dealt with them once, and it was less than stellar. I contacted them regarding a magazine for my Howa and they said they didn't have one is stock but were expecting a shipment and they put me on their "want" list. I waited for a fair while past the date they'd hoped, and when I contacted them again the boss apologized, said they'd got a huge order in and they were sorting it out and they'd get back to me. I never heard another word, and I managed to find the mag I needed elsewhere. Mind you, from the reviews on this site, I think my experience was the exception rather than the norm.

Ive had nothing but excellent service from prophet river. Even when there has been a minor issue its been dealt with promptly and professionally. One of the few reasons its about the only place i shop. They go above and beyond imo.

I have been a customer of PR for many years, buying many items from firearms to gun cleaning and reloading supplies to clothing, and after dozens and dozens of transactions, I have only had 2 minor issues which where delt with by Clay himself immediately and to my total satisfaction.
I have bought lots firearms, and other products from many other sites on the net, (usually because PR didn't have it, or it was a good sale somewhere) and not one has come close to matching the level of service, prompt shipping, and caring that Clay and every member of his staff that I have delt with, has shown, over and over again.
As the best example I can show is, I bought a Ruger No 1 from them, placing the order at 1:45pm in the afternoon, and between their excellent service, and Devine intervention of the postal gods, I was holding that rifle, half a province away at 7:45 am the very next morning. Almost everything is shipped out the same day I order it or certainly by the next at the very latest.
Simply put, they are the best at what they do.

I placed an order for a rifle just after 2 this afternoon, 15-20 minutes later transfer approved from the Fuds, 1/2 hour after that, I get the notice it has shipped with a tracking number.

It just does not get any better than that, period.

Well done to Clay and the team your a well oiled machine !!

👍🏻👍🏻
I do not care too much about how fast is shipping. But I care about best price and quality

I am fortunate to live about 12 miles from the Store , so I get in there on a weekly basis. Up to Order # 351 . Nothing BUT good to say about all the Guys and Gals I have dealt with over the phone, email or in store. Clay has brought in several Special Orders for me. Canada's #1 Gun Store.

The best place I’ve ever dealt with. I have been dealing with Clay for, I don’t know how many years now, 15? More? Anyway I have always received service above and beyond what you expect and get from just about any other store. Never had a bad experience or anything even close to it. The staff is always friendly and helpful as well. I wish they were a little closer so I could stop in more often but it’s probably for the best because then I’d be broke.

Keep up the good work there!

I tried to get another site sponsor to get me Henry H006CS Big boy silver 45lc they told me impossible can only get the brass version, well thats why I love Profit River they got it orderd and delivered within two weeks.

So you have been a member on here for over 4 years and this is your 1st post, slamming a site sponsor, man you are a piece of work. If I follow this correctly you bought a used rife off a consignment list at PR and 4 years later you had a problem with it and wanted PR to take responsibility and reimburse you their commission as a good will gesture, after the manufacturer refused to fix it, I think that about sums it up, seriously man think about that for a minute

I checked his google reviews. Seems he is well enough to leave bad reviews for many. A couple responses from the owners are funny. Quite the guy, the Randy McCall, it would seem.
