Why Is Finding a Shotty Such A PITA?

I would never start a new shooter wit a 410, many don't hit anything, get frustrated, and lose interest. A 20 gauge semi auto is a far better choice.

100% agree. When I take new shooters out I let them shoot a Browning Silver 20 gauge. No kick. Tosses lots of lead. They have a hope of hitting a clay.

A cheap Turkish single shot 20 g is what I went with a few years ago for my boys. It works surprisingly well. Easy to point, acceptable recoil with target loads.

I figure once they're ready to move on to bigger and better I'll have gotten my money out of it.
