That had to hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should be wearing hearing protection no matter what you shoot, with or without a break, if you are then whats the difference in a few more decibles that you can't hear.

We are all aware that hearing protection is paramount. Some of us realize that given the same level of hearing protection firing 45 grains is preferable to firing 70.
Hearing protection mitigates the impact of noise on your hearing it does not remove the impact 100%.

so what exactly caused that bruise?

so what exactly caused that bruise?

TMG let the cat out of the bag in the 300WM vs. 338 Lapua thread:

I have a large purple bruise that travels from the anterior aspect of my deltoid down to the elbow. It is nasty.

Thought I would be a wise guy and shoot many rounds with an unbraked 6 lb 338 Winmag hunting rifle, prone in a t shirt.

Yup, the 338 is gonna ring your bell.

Ouch.:D:D

You need a pic of your rifle not a stock pic even if it is not been fired you may have backed over it with your truck:)

Also you have a rifle that appeals to an exclusive number of shooters:)

On used factory rifles I want to be able to pay for a new match barrel with the savings from new price. If I can't save that, I'll buy just buy it new myself. I'm sorry, but my average new rifles outshoot my average new rifles.
Mods that are perfect for me are deal sweeteners. Things like longer LOP, quality mounts etc.
The exception is anything of special interest, that I want but just can't seem to find.

Money is tight right now.

I looked at your rifle actually, and thought it would make a great long range hunter, but I don't have any money in my gun fund right now.

Sometimes timing is everything.

Early last year I couldn't keep items listed on the EE, this year things are moving slowly. There are also a lot more low ballers and zero feedback sellers.

Pictures are the key to a quick sale, the more detailed the pics the faster it will move.

This has been my experience on the EE.

As for recoil - brakes people - breaks! Seriously why doesn't everyone use them, they are the best thing since sliced bread!

My hearing is tested every two years, and at 50,it is still normal. One of the reasons for that,is that I refuse to use a muzzle brake while hunting.I have shot them at the range, but even with plugs and muffs,I still find them too loud.I won't hunt with hearing protection,so I won't own a braked rifle.

6 lb rifle, no recoil pad, prone position, 338 Win Mag, stubborn determination, t shirt, lots of fatty tissue, 40 rounds fired.

ones man's stubborn determination is another man's............

I honestly figured that was a work or motor vehicle related incident I could'nt for the life of me believe it was one rifle related bruise and then could'nt imagine what kind of person would subject themselves to such repetitive tourture. Upon close examination I think I can see the curve of the butt engraved in your arm. Were you shifting the butt between rounds to find fresh meat to tenderize! Hope there was a signifigant bet involved

It will sell. It's a good rifle and a very good deal. I know it's hard to be patient when you want to sell it and use the money for something else, but just hang in there. It will sell.

I'm just sorry you have to sell it at all. Obviously you wanted it or you would not have bought it in the first place. Bummer. Hope it all works out for you man.
