why is my rifle not selling?*** it SOLD afterall

Our local Canadian Forces range won't allow 300WM. Don't know if that edict is Canada wide or not. You would think it would be if its a Federal range. Sounds like a great deal you have there for the right person.

Certainly a local thing as my range will accept anything up to 375 hh mag

I know this may not be the forum for this but I will ask anyhow..
I have a new unfired Rem 700 XCR tactical long range 300wm that I need to sell to pay bills. I have owned it 6 months and it has done nothing more than sit in my safe, I paid $1660 with tax at Wanstalls , I see they have them at WSS for about $1500 out the door now.

any how I have mine listed for just $1099 which is pretty cheap I think.

I have had basically no interest in it:(
any ideas why?? is the 300wm not a popular choice for a target gun??
I never look at the Precision Rifle E+E. Precision has more to do with the Shooter than the Tool he uses.

There's nothing wrong with a 300WM. If you lived in the USA if would sell just as fast as a .308. It's all in the location. Canada is very different in terms of calibres and kinds of shooting being done. The 300WM is a great calibre. Just my opinion mind you.

"...breaks!...why doesn't everyone use them..." Brakes. Not always allowed in competitions. Not allowed in F-Class, for example.
"...more of a hunting calibre than a target calibre..." Used for eons in high end, 1,000 yard, match shooting. Not usually in stock factory rifles though.
As for a Rem 700 XCR not selling, it is a hunting rifle. Even the 'Tactical' version. Wrong time of year.

A number of years ago I read a real estate agent's report on a property.
He quoted two prices and finished it off by saying:
Given a willing buyer and a willing seller.
Obviously the high price is for the willing buyer and the lower for just how willing the seller is. Of course it all depends on there being a number of buyers that want "exactly" what you have. I would pull it off the market for two or three weeks, take new pictures and offer it at a new price (maybe higher or maybe lower). I have looked at yours before but I have a Sendero in 300 WM.
