Why is this forum contaminated with BCL102 and other ###102 posts?

Touchy subject!
Just seems to me that a lot of the other 30 cal AR type rifles like the LMT and the like are discussed in the black and green and precision rifles forums still. Seems the BCL is about the only one to have made the move over here.
Then again, opinions are like a-holes, we all have one and they all stink.
Maybe it's just that it seems the BCL discussions have drowned out everything in here, I honestly do not have anything against the rifle itself and I do believe other rifles like the Famae belong here.
Perhaps just too much of a good thing as everyone is excited about the rifle and it will calm down as they get more widespread and the hiccups worked out.

Interesting thought but the caliber is typically associated with that of the black or red rifle forums, while the action is typically associated with the main battle rifle forum. I think thats one of those cases where no one really knows where it should belong.
Last I checked, the AR-10 has and continues to see service with many nations, and the BCL-102 is just a variant thereof.
I prefer the M14 and other more traditional style rifles, but the Canadian battle rifle market could certainly use some new blood.

M14's are a milsurp. 305's are simply a copy that allows range use. - dan

Better off on m14forum.com anyway for m14/m1a/m305 stuff. Lots of actual information and meaningful discussions, far less of the crap that this thread is full of, like high school kids arguing over which genre band x/y/z fits into. Really enriches the forums!
Nothing wrong with bcl 102 threads , reviews , and opinions. Good to hear them good and bad , very helpful from my point of view

The AR10 was a contemporary design along with the FAL, G3, CETME, STG57 and such.
The 102, wasn't that a prototype that lead to the AR10?
I don't think that 'battle rifle thread' refers exclusively to stories about how uncle Bill spent years earning a pension by attempting to drink all the beer in West Germany,
nor about that guy you know Freddo, who was drafted only to spend the best years of his life swatting mosquitoes in a swamp in Guinea-Bissau.
Along comes some seventies upstart like the SG542, never mind any of those millenials like the RFB or K&M M17.
I hope I am around long enough to see someone put the AR16 into mass production.
