Why isn't Barnaul/Tula ammo/Wolf 148gr 7.62x54r available in Canada?

I've noticed that we only seem to have MFS/Barnaul 7.62x54r in the 203gr and 174gr range but none of the 148gr stuff even though it does exist in the US.

I was wondering why that is the case, especially since the prevalent wisdom is that we should stick to lighter rounds in an SVT and having non-corrosive stuff would be nice.

Most likely, it's due to sanctions or import restrictions placed on Russian made ammunition. Or at least that's what I've heard given as a reason why you can't find Barnaul .308 anywhere...

Seems to be a luck of the draw situation, if you do find any quantity of the cheap Ruskie ammo in the correct calibre, BUY IT!
