Why the First-Cowboy-To-Draw always gets shot

Gene Autry always shot the gun out of the guys hands. He also let the BG go first. I guess it was an example of handicapping.

Why the First-Cowboy-To-Draw always gets shot

- maybe because it's a movie?

Reality and common sense kinda dictate that life expectancy would be shortened considerably if you always give the other guy the first shot...

Funny how TV and movies have confused a lot of people.

Confused!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Pathetic more like.
It maniests itself in comments like " Why didn't the LEO's just shoot the gun out of his hand?" and no one in the media even blinks, corrects or clarifies such nonsense by explaining why that can't happen.

Ya so why don't they, Roy Rogers always did!

You guys take this stuff so, so seriously. Read what John had to say and reflect on it for awhile.

ps Zombies you shoot first, no warning, nothing. Ordinary misguided cow pokes ...well you just gotta give them a break. Maybe they came from a broken home or were picked on as a child.

I always thought it was because if the badguy drew first, then there was no moral ambiguity in the good guy having defended himself.
